One-on-One Mentoring for Shorter Pieces: Whether you’re working towards a first publication, a contest entry, or revising a couple of stories or essays that need a fresh point of view, I can help to improve your work by offering substantive feedback, line edits, and guidance on the overall shape and tone of your piece.
(4-hour mentoring minimum)
Manuscript Evaluation: For book-length works such as novels, short story collections, or memoirs, I offer manuscript evaluations that include:
a multi-page written analysis of what’s working and what areas could be expanded or clarified
a phone or Zoom meeting to answer any questions
a sample line edit of the first 25 pages of your work
Developmental or Line Editing: For book-length works that need more in-depth support, I offer a Developmental Edit that looks at big-picture manuscript concerns like structure, character, voice, and plot, or a Line Edit for work that is in a later stage and just needs a keen editorial eye to check for minor issues like continuity, grammar, and flow. Both types of editing include detailed on-page feedback and Zoom discussions.
Script Consultation: For filmmakers I offer an intensive script review that will help to improve narrative flow, clean-up dialogue, clarify character motivations, express themes, and tighten pacing.
