subTerrain – No. 71

My latest story, “Cream,” has just hit the stands in subTerrain #71. The issue was illustrated by David Boswell, legendary Vancouver comic book artist, and his drawings for my story are crazy-cool. Pick up a copy of the magazine to check them out! I'm still making my way through the issue--it just arrived yesterday--but so far it's full of essential fall reading: Peter Babiak’s essay on schooling digital natives, and an excerpt from Anakana Schofield’s “Martin John,” recently shortlisted for the Giller Prize!

  1. Thanks for the shout out, Becky! Your piece, "Cream", is awesome. Favourite line: "The texture of human meat is surprisingly similar to the venison, purple and raw." You write sentences with Hemingway's precision. Like bullet points that hide their incisive poetic quality.
